Aerodynamic fuselages or fins refer to two differently sized parts that were introduced in update 1.4. They are meant to be used to cover flat surfaces of engines wider than their fuel tanks, but can be used as an aerodynamic cover for other protruding flat surfaces.
The part was then removed in 1.5.3, but it reappeared in a later update.
Other uses
- Letting Landing Legs extend beneath other parts otherwise taller than them by attaching them to the fin's underside
- Expendable and long collision buffers in impactor stages
- Nose cones
- Aesthetic parts
- Decorative tails
- Stabilizing rockets inside an atmosphere
- Can be used as taller nosecones for boosters.
