Buildings are man-made structures on Earth. They are used in career mode for research and building rockets.
Currently there are 4 buildings. They are the Mission Center, the Research & Development building, the Vehicle Assembly Building and the launch pad.
In normal gameplay, the first three buildings are hidden.
Buildings[]
Mission Centre[]
The Mission Center is the first building the player enters in. It is a grey square block. This building is the starting place for missions. By entering this building, you can see the list of missions, like suborbital flight and getting to orbit.
Research & Development[]
The Research & Development building is where you can research rocket parts and unlock them. At the beginning the first part pack is unlocked. It is a grey square block just like the last building.
To unlock parts you need to get enough funds to unlock that part. To buy parts you need to click "Buy".
If the player has not enough funds an error sound and message appear.
Vehicle Assembly Building[]
The Vehicle Assembly Building (or VAB for short) is the construction site for rockets. It is similar to the building area in normal gameplay but with lesser parts. It is based off the real-life building built by NASA for constructing the Saturn V rocket in the 1960s.
Launch pad[]
The launch pad is the last building in the game from the Mission Center. This is where rockets are launched. It has no launch tower. The rocket is sent to this building after clicking Launch in the VAB.
Any rocket that is 6 meters from the center of the launch pad are removed to provide space.
The launch pad is the oldest building in the game.
Trivia[]
- All buildings (except for the launch pad) and the cement are not solid structures so you cannot land or destroy them.
