Heliocentric orbit

A solar probe in heliocentric orbit

A helocentric orbit is an orbit around the sun. The planets, asteroids, comets, probes and space debris orbit in this orbit.

Activities[]

There are many activities to do while in orbit around the sun. From the simple solar probes to the complex solar stations, it is easy to do that.

Solar stations must be constructed at other planets, like Earth or Mercury. Mercury is the best place to place a space station very close to the sun while Earth is the specific place for a near-Earth station.

Near-Earth stations are best for detecting asteroids that will hit Earth, or scientific study of the sun and planets.

Solar probes[]

Solar probes are the easiest activity in the orbit of the sun. A rocket must be small to launch a solar probe to orbit. A solar probe must have solar panels and ion engines for trajectory correction maneuvers.
