Vehicle Assembly Building

The VAB in the game before version 1.5.8.3

The Vehicle Assembly Building (or VAB for short) is one of the buildings in the Space Center located on Earth. It is used to build rockets and send them to the launch pad where they will be launched.

Upon entering the Vehicle Assembly Building you will encounter an empty blueprint with a selection of parts on the left. If there's a rocket under construction in the VAB, you can either scrap the construction to make a new rocket or continue building the rocket (if you want to finish it). To add a part, drag one of the parts to the blueprint screen. If two parts overlap they will disappear, but it can be fixed using the Part Clipping cheat. After building the rocket there is a button to launch it; it is on the top-right of the screen. After clicking the button the rocket is transferred over to the center of the launch pad. A rocket that is 20 feet away from the rocket will be instantly deleted to provide space for the launch.
