SimpleWeatherStation2

A simple weather station made with simple blueprint editing. This station features an wind sock (used to tell the direction of the wind) and a aeronomiter (used to tell wind speed) as well as solar panels, for electricity.

A Weather station is a facility, either on land or sea, with instruments and equipment for measuring atmospheric conditions to provide information for weather forecasts and to study the weather and climate. Weather stations are usually placed in other planets to study the weather and climate.

Locations for Placement[]

Earth[]

Weather Stations on Earth are common and useful, and can be easily built, without major launches.

Venus[]

Venus, can be very difficult to land on, thus making a Weather Station on Venus can be challenge. Weather Stations on Venus can be helpful (in a scientific sense) because they can help study weather patterns, and the atmosphere more closely. A probe can also be sent to Venus, to help receive and send information, to and from Earth. Such probe can also help study the weather from a different perspective.

Mars[]

Mars can also be a great place for a Weather Station, as Mars's weather can be unpredictable at times. A Weather Station could help predict such occurrences. An orbiting satellite could also expedite the process.

Jupiter[]

Since Jupiter doesn't have a solid surface, one must rely on a weather satellite constellation, or a floating atmospheric probe that uses balloons. A constellation of weather satellites would be the best option for this need, but an atmospheric probe could study the atmosphere more closely. Downsides of atmospheric probes is that the high pressure within Jupiter's atmosphere could crush any probe, so long term study would be infeasible.
